IFRIC update

Date recorded:

One of the Board members questioned the application of one of the Committee’s tentative decisions in relation to IAS 28 Investments in Associates and Joint Ventures – Application of the equity method, when an associate’s equity changes outside comprehensive income (i.e., where an investor’s share ownership interest in the associate increases, whether directly or indirectly, the impact of the change should be accounted for as an incremental purchase of the associate or should be recognised at cost). The staff noted that they would insert numerical examples to illustrate the application of this tentative decision in the next agenda paper.
