Financial Reporting Framework in Nicaragua

IFRSs required in Nicaragua starting in 2012

By resolution of the Institute of Nicaraguan Public Accountants (Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Nicaragua) dated 24 June 2009, full IFRSs have to be applied in Nicaragua from 1 July 2011 (the first year for presenting IFRS financial statements is the year ending 30 June 2012).

By resolution of the Institute of Nicaraguan Public Accountants (Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Nicaragua) dated 31 May 2010, the IFRS for SMEs has to be applied in Nicaragua from 1 July 2011 (the first year for presenting IFRS financial statements is the year ending 30 June 2012). The resolution also stated the definition an entity has to meet to be able to apply the IFRS for SMEs.
