The feedback from the exposure draft was generally positive, nonetheless, constituents raised several significant issues that need to be re-deliberated. No formal decisions were made at this meeting.

    The IASB and FASB considered the ways forward in the financial instruments with characteristics of equity project and initial suggestions of some Board members to perform a targeted improvements approach in the areas of fixed-for-fixed guidance, convertible debt and redeemable and puttable instruments. Given concerns raised, the Boards decided to remove the project from its active agenda for the time being.

    The Boards considered the summary of comment letters from the ED 'Presentation of Items of Other Comprehensive Income'. Almost all the discussion focussed on the requirement to present a single performance statement with two sections.

    The staff provided the Board with a summary of constituent outreach activities the IASB and FASB has performed since the publication of the staff draft. The Boards asked the staff to continue in performing outreach activities and directed it to prepare a project plan that would allow for discussion of the proposal after June 2011.
