Wayne Upton, who Chairs this group, spoke of the work that the Emerging Economies Group, established in 2011 and comprising those G20 member countries classified as ‘emerging economies’, with the addition of Malaysia (primarily for the strength of its record as an accounting standard-setter). Council members noted the work being done and encouraged the initiative.
