At its meeting on March 15, the IASB analyzed the responses received from its constituents on the temporary solution to address the accounting volatility that will emerge with the adoption of the new IFRS 9 Financial Instruments (effective from January 1, 2018) before the new IFRS for insurance contracts is effective (at least two years later). At the meeting, the IASB Staff asked the IASB to vote on the key issues on this temporary solution.
