In December 2015, the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) issued its Discussion Paper, “Agriculture.” Now, we are holding in-person roundtable discussions to hear your views.
Why Attend?
We have learned through outreach that, as a result of a lack of specific authoritative guidance, there is diversity in accounting by private enterprises for:
- biological assets (i.e., living animals or plants;) and
- agricultural produce (i.e., the harvested product of the enterprise's biological assets).
This diversity is causing difficulties for stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
Your input is critical to our determination of whether authoritative guidance on accounting for biological assets and agricultural produce should be developed for private enterprises. And, if so, which issues should be addressed and how.
Take advantage of this opportunity to provide your views to senior AcSB representatives in an open forum discussion.
