Opening and IASB Vice-chairman's comments

Date recorded:

Paul Cherry opened the meeting and reviewed some of the out-of-session matters, all of which were addressed elsewhere in the meeting.

IASB Vice-chairman's comments

Hans Hoogervorst was unable to attend the meeting; in his stead, Ian Mackintosh presented a review of the IASB's activities since the Council's meeting in February.  Of particular interest was a comment that, notwithstanding the establishment of the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum in March 2013, the IASB expected to be working with the FASB on a bilateral basis until the end of 2014 as the boards complete their work on IFRS 9, insurance contracts, leases and revenue.  He also noted that the IASB was interested in the work of the International Integrated Reporting Council and participates in its work at several levels.
