The SEC has published a final rule to rescind the section under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 that established the SEC’s program for supervising investment bank holding companies.

The SEC took this action because the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act eliminated the applicable section as of July 21, 2011. The SEC also rescinded certain exemptive provisions in its broker-dealer risk assessment rules and delegation of authority rules that pertained to that section. The final rule is effective as of July 18, 2013.
