The AICPA has issued Statement of Position (SOP) 13-2, "Performing Agreed-Upon Procedures Engagements That Address the Completeness, Mapping, Consistency, or Structure of XBRL-Formatted Information."

SOP 13-2 provides the latest guidance to practitioners performing agreed-upon procedures engagements on exhibits containing information using eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) that will be filed with the SEC. This SOP updates the guidance contained in SOP 09-1 and supersedes that statement. It is based on the guidance in Principles and Criteria for XBRL-Formatted Information (eBook available for purchase on the AICPA's CPA2Biz store), which presents criteria established by the Assurance Services Executive Committee (ASEC) of the AICPA for use by preparers of XBRL-formatted information and practitioners when providing attestation or consulting services to evaluate XBRL-formatted information.

This SOP may also be used for performing agreed-upon procedures engagements for other applications of XBRL.

The SOP is available through the AICPA's CPA2Biz store. Copies are priced at $20 for AICPA members, or $25 for non-members.
