The SEC has launched a new Web site that provides research, analyses, and interactive data metrics on market structure. The site uses data collected from the SEC’s Market Information Data and Analytics System (MIDAS).

The new Market Structure Web site is organized into two sections: (1) data visualizations and (2) research and analysis. The data visualization section contains interactive data charts on a variety of equity security characteristics, such as type of security, market capitalization, and volatility. The research and analysis section contains periodic data highlights that are prepared when new data or significant changes are discovered by MIDAS. Also, this section contains white papers prepared by the SEC staff on the structure of the equity markets.

For more information, see the press release on the SEC's Web site, or visit the new SEC Market Structure Web site.
