FASB and ASBJ hold biannual meeting

The sixteenth meeting between representatives of the FASB and the Accounting Standards Board of Japan (ASBJ) was held in Norwalk, Connecticut, earlier this week. The meeting included updates on each board's respective standard-setting activities and an exchange of views on technical topics that are of interest to both boards.

The FASB and the ASBJ also discussed the following projects that the IASB is currently deliberating:

The boards also discussed FASB projects on financial instruments, goodwill, and the disclosure framework. In addition, the FASB and the ASBJ also discussed the endorsement procedures of IFRS in Japan.

The FASB and ASBJ will meet again in Tokyo in the second half of 2014.
