The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) has issued a “Professional Judgment Resource,” which is “designed to provide auditors with an example of a decision-making process to facilitate important auditing and accounting judgments in a professionally skeptical manner.”

The document is being issued in response to concerns regarding auditors’ treatment of subjective and challenging matters, including increasingly complex business transactions, principles-based standards, and estimates.

For more information, see the Professional Judgment Resource and press release on the CAQ’s Web site.
