IAESB releases revised framework

The International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB) has published a revised version of its “Framework for International Education Standards for Professional Accountants and Aspiring Professional Accountants," which delineates the concepts on which the Board’s International Education Standards (IESs) are based.

Specifically, the framework:

  • Identifies its purpose and scope.
  • Explains the educational concepts of professional competence, learning outcomes, general education, initial professional development, continuing professional development, and assessment and measurement used to determine the effectiveness of learning and development.
  • Describes the nature of the IESs and related IAESB publications.
  • Outlines IFAC member body obligations related to the IESs.
