The Sustainability Working Group of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) has issued guidelines for its member exchanges on how to implement its sustainability policies.

The guidelines identify key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics that exchanges can include in their disclosure guidance for listed companies. Specifically, the guidelines highlight “34 key performance indicators, including energy consumption, water management, CEO pay ratio, gender diversity, human rights, child and forced labour, temporary worker rate, corruption and anti-bribery, tax transparency in addition to other corporate policies.” Member firms, including the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, are permitted to voluntarily implement the guidance.

For more information, see the press release, guidelines, and ESG metrics on the WFE’s Web site.
