Report of 6 November 2008 ARC meeting

The Summary Report of the 6 November 2008 meeting of the EC Accounting Regulatory Committee has been released.
At that meeting, among other things, the ARC voted to recommend that the following pronouncements be endorsed for use in the EU:
- Amendments to IFRS 1 and IAS 27: Cost of an Investment in a Subsidiary, Jointly Controlled Entity or Associate
- Amendments to IAS 32 and IAS 1: Puttable Financial Instruments and Obligations Arising on Liquidation
- Annual Improvements to IFRSs
- IFRIC 12: Service Concession Arrangements. However, ARC's recommendation is IFRIC 12 should be mandatory in Europe starting in 2010. The IASB's effective date for IFRIC 12 was annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2008 (see our news story of 8 November 2008
