The Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AOSSG) has formally nominated for a position on the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum (ASAF), putting forward the possibility of being represented by the AOSSG Vice Chair, Clement Chan, who is also Chair of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).

The AOSSG nomination letter outlines the AOSSG's case for being considered for nomination in accordance with the IFRS Foundation's Call for Nominations for the ASAF, which was issued in February 2013.  The letter provides a useful overview of the AOSSG and notes the organisation has formed an 'ASAF Working Party', which comprises members of the AOSSG Chair’s Advisory Committee and other members so as to achieve a representative membership, and which will also have strong linkages to the AOSSG's existing technical working groups.
