The Auditing Board of the Central Chamber of Commerce (AB3C) of Finland and the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) have announced a cooperative agreement on the oversight of audit firms subject to the regulatory jurisdictions of both regulators.

The agreement allows for the exchange of confidential information of firms performing in both jurisdictions and is effective immediately. The two regulators have also reached a data protection agreement.

The agreement now increases the amount of cooperative agreements the PCAOB has with European nations to seven, with the most recent being France. The PCAOB continues to pursue and has reached agreements with regulators in North Americas, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

The press release is available on the PCAOB website.
