Deloitte comment letter on tentative agenda decision on cash received via electronic transfer as settlement of a financial asset

Published on: 19 Nov 2021

We have commented on the IFRS Interpretations Committee's publication in the September 2021 Update of the tentative decision not to take onto the Committee’s agenda the request for clarification on the timing of recognition of cash received via an electronic transfer system as settlement for a financial asset.

We agree with the IFRS Interpretations Committee’s decision not to add this item onto its agenda for the reasons set out in the tentative agenda decision; however, we believe that this issue should be referred to the Board to consider the wider consequences of the analysis in the TAD and to perform a comprehensive cost/benefit analysis before concluding on the matter.
