This comment letter from Deloitte (United Kingdom) provides feedback on the draft of Reporting Guidance for Business on Environmental Key Performance Indicators: a consultation on Guidance for UK Businesses issued by the United Kingdom Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

The letter notes that the Guidance would complement the proposed regulation requiring reporting of greenhouse gas emissions by UK quoted companies announced by the UK Government at the Rio+20 Summit.  Taken together, they represent part of a wider effort to ensure that UK corporate reporting remains responsive to demands for information about the environmental impact of a company's activities.

The comment letter concludes the Guidance will provide a useful tool to support companies in reporting and managing their impact on the environment.
