Published on: 06 Sep, 2012

This survey comprises a review of 85 annual reports from leading listed real estate companies across Europe to assess compliance with the Best Practices Recommendations (BPR) of the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA). The survey focuses on EPRA’s Performance Measures which are at the heart of EPRA’s drive to achieve consistency and transparency in financial reporting for the benefit of shareholders and investors.

Some 74% of companies surveyed, representing 84% by market capitalisation of the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Developed Europe indices now recognise the BPR by adopting at least one EPRA Performance Measure. This is an increase of 11% as compared to 2010/2011. The report highlights especially the increased adoption in Germany, France and Belgium who all show a double digit growth rate.

EPRA handed out a total of 33 awards including 15 Gold medals awarded to those companies recognised by EPRA for annual reports demonstrating exceptional compliance with the BPR. Mobimo, a Swiss real estate company, was presented with the award for ‘Most Improved Annual Report’.
