FRC event on IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts – UK endorsement of finalised standard
The FRC is hosting a webinar on the UK endorsement of IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts. The IASB has now completed its re-deliberations of the proposed amendments to IFRS 17 and plans to issue the finalised standard by the end of June 2020.
As the EU is not expected to endorse the standard before the end of the UK’s Transition Period, it is highly likely that IFRS 17 will need separate assessment by the UK Endorsement Board.
The webinar will include a presentation from Darrel Scott, IASB Board member, explaining the basis for the IASB’s amendments to the standard and addressing key issues for UK preparers, and an overview of the context and requirements for UK endorsement of IFRS, the planned approach for IFRS 17 and how to get involved in outreach.
