FASB upcoming webcast for nonpublic entities

The US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) will be holding a webcast on 5 June 2013 to provide an update on the FASB’s standard-setting activities in regards to private companies and not-for-profit (NFP) organizations.
Topics to be discussed include:
- An update on recent Private Company Council (PCC) meetings, including upcoming proposals on potential alternatives within U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- The Private Company Decision-Making Framework project and the related project reexamining the definition of a nonpublic entity
- The work of the FASB’s NFP Advisory Committee
- A brief overview of several projects in process, including:
- The FASB’s projects to improve NFP financial reporting
- The FASB-IASB projects on Leases, Revenue Recognition, and Financial Instruments
- Other FASB projects of interest to private companies and NFP organizations.
- Some recently-issued Accounting Standards Updates.
The webcast will be conducted by FASB members (Russell Golden and Hal Schroeder), FASB staff (Jeff Mechanick, Ron Bossio, Elizabeth Gagnon, and Michael Cheng), and PCC member (George Beckwith).
