SEC will hold roundtable on more transparent disclosures

The US Securities and Exchange Commission will hold a roundtable to discuss ways to modernise its disclosure system to provide investors with more useful information in a timely manner.
The roundtable will be held at the SEC's headquarters in Washington, DC, on 8 October 2008 09:00 to 13:00 (ET). It will be webcast. The roundtable will consist of an open discussion on the Commission's financial disclosure system, including the information needs of investors, public companies, and others and the capabilities of modern information technology to improve transparency and ease of use. The roundtable will be organised as two panels, each consisting of investors, issuers, academics, and other parties with experience with the Commission's financial disclosure system.
