The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) has asked the US Securities and Exchange Commission to withdraw its proposal for a Roadmap for use of IFRSs by all US companies registered with the SEC.

Instead, NASBA believes that the Commission should encourage convergence of US GAAP and IFRSs. NASBA is the association of the 55 government boards of accountancy in US states and territories. The individual boards examine candidates and license CPAs. NASBA itself administers an International Qualification Examination (IQEX) for non-US candidates seeking a receiprocal US CPA designation.
