The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) has published a survey to investigate the inclusion of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in valuations. The survey is open until 31 May 2024.

The IVSC states that to produce an International Valuation Standards (IVS) compliant valuation, ESG factors and the ESG regulatory environment should be considered in valuations to the extent that they are measurable and would be considered reasonable by the valuer applying professional judgement.

The IVSC ESG working group therefore initiated a regular survey of valuers and other stakeholders to understand how they quantify ESG components within their valuations.

The latest survey relates to all types of valuations including valuations for financial reporting, market capitalisations, secured lending and tax reporting purposes.
